Leaving the town, you are greeting with stunning views of the rolling green hills this region is famous for and a glimpse into some of the dairy and beef farms that make up some of the incredible produce and paddock to plate experiences Baw Baw is known for.

As you get closer to Mount Worth the windy roads are hugged with tall gumtrees and native vegetation. As the road surfaces changes to gravel, you know you are getting close to enjoying the peace that the stunning Mount Worth State Park can bring.

Gardiner’s Mill Circuit

Mount Worth State Park is an undiscovered piece of natural paradise. Walking around taking in the surrounds of Mountain Ash, Mountain Grey Gum and Blackwood with tree ferns flourishing in the sheltered gullies is a perfect way to spend your day – and a great spot for a picnic!

Gardiner’s Mill Circuit takes you through the regenerating Mountain Ash forest and along the tree-lined Clark Creek. An extension of the Giant Circuit, Gardiner’s Mill Circuit is approximately 3.3kms long, and a beautiful walk, perfect to enjoy solo or with friends.

The Mount Worth State forest is home to a variety of native animals such as wombats, possums, birds, platypus and other small animals – if you’re lucky you may even get a sighting! We recommend dusk or dawn as your best chance of crossing paths with one of the locals.
